🔥 Learn how to make the perfect Advanced Flat White on the Breville/Sage Barista Express! This is our Advanced (LVL 2) recipe that focuses on precision, consistency, and workflow improvements over the basic version. Below, you see a detailed explanation of the ingredients, instructions, and how to prepare the drink. We’ll also explain the choice of tools and techniques we use and how they impact the final cup (See more 👇) ☕ About the Recipe: The Flat White is a rich, velvety espresso-based drink with a thin layer of microfoam, known for its balance of strength and creaminess. In this Level 2 version, we dial in workflow and technique to elevate the consistency. For this recipe, we used the Loveramics Urban Twisted Glass (180 ml), which provides a balanced volume for a single espresso and steamed milk. ☕ Ingredients: • Coffee beans: 18–20 grams (freshly roasted, pre-dosed in single-dose tubes) • Cold milk: 150 grams ⚙️ Tools: • Breville/Sage Barista Express • Single-dose tubes (for convenience and precision) • RDT spray bottle (to reduce static) • WDT tool (for even distribution) • Funnel (to reduce mess) • Bottomless portafilter • Normcore tamping station and auto-level tamper • Puck screen (for more even water flow) • Thermometer with 65°C alert (for milk) • 350 ml milk pitcher • Loveramics Urban Twisted Glass 180 ml • Scale • Knockbox 👇 Instructions (Play the video and follow along in real-time): 1️⃣ Prepare the Espresso • Mist the beans in the single-dose tube with RDT. • Hot-start the grinder, pour the beans into the hopper. • Grind directly into the portafilter using the funnel. • Distribute with WDT and tamp with the Normcore auto-level tamper. • Place puck screen on top and extract espresso directly into the 180 ml Loveramics glass. 2️⃣ Steam the Milk • Pour 150 g of cold milk into the 350 ml pitcher. • Set the thermometer to beep at 65°C. • Place the pitcher on the drip tray, insert steam wand, and begin ghost steaming (hands-free). • Wait for the beep, then turn off the steam. 3️⃣ Pour the Drink • Pour the textured milk directly into the espresso, creating a smooth flat white with a fine layer of microfoam. 4️⃣ Serve & Clean Up • Enjoy immediately while hot and creamy. • Clean the steam wand, group head, portafilter, and all tools used. 👉 Did you try this recipe?
