Tsuyoshi Yamamoto is a Professor of Information Science and Technology at Hokkaido University. Currently, he is appointed as Vice Director of Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation of Hokkaido University. He received a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electronics Engineering from Hokkaido University in 1976 and 1978 respectively, and a degree of Doctor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Hokkaido University in 1986. From 1978 to 1980, he worked at Fujitsu Ltd. In 1982, he was appointed a lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Hokkaido University. Since then, he worked in the fields of computer graphics, symbolic computation, medical image processing and 3D spatial user interface. He characterise his style of research by following words: "Visualisation and Implementation". In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
