It's My Birthday and I'll Hike If I Want To [Appalachian Trail Episode 15]

Sprinted to the Hikers Welcome Hostel to find service to reach my family about sending my puffy jacket before entering the White Mountains. I fell in the process and did not get my puffy sent in time. I chowed down on pizza, ice cream, showered, laundry and watched The Big Lobowski with all the other hikers. Didn't feel the most welcome at this hostel so I risked pushing on into the mountains without my puffy jacket. The climb up Moosilauke was super steep and quickly crossed 1800 miles. Reached my first 4,000ft mountain in New Hampshire of 48 high peaks. It was cloudy, cold, crowded and beautiful. Slept at Beaver Brook Shelter and had a fire with good company. Sunflower helped unprepared dayhikers from drinking their own pee. The morning down Moosilauke was steeeeep. Crossed over South and North Kinsman, 2/3 of 48 with Tram and Cheese. Woke up at Kinsman Pond campsite on my 27th birthday. Passed by the beautiful Lonesome Lake before reuniting with my Gully Girl, Splash! Took a side quest to get breakfast and shotgunned twisted teas in the parking lot. Climbed to the top of Franconia Ridge crossing more high peaks! What an incredible day on an incredible mountain. Saw a beautiful sunset on top of Garfield Mountain and slept in the shelter. The milky way was incredible! Sunflower and Splash carried champagne and orange juice for mimosas.
