Playlist of my Odyssey runs: https://studio.youtube.com/playlist/P... This was better than my first run in all ways. It was easier at many points, and faster overall. In the previous run, I didn't do the gauntlet battles purely. I would save state between them. In this run, it was all pure, which made those gauntlets harder, especially the endgame one. You can skip some cutscenes in that E4-style gauntlet, but the post-match stuff can't be skipped. So that part of the run felt a little long. I can't guarantee doing that gauntlet purely in future runs. I was close to giving up on this run, but being stubborn paid off. Of course, it's always harder when using just 3 mons. I don't like how the final 2 battles in the endgame gauntlet is back-to-back. If I was able to switch out one of my leads, the battle with the Progenitor would've been smoother. The Electric Monotype is often one of my least favorite runs, but this one was less painstaking. A big part of that is that a few Etrian variants aren't weak to Ground-types. Other mons excelled because of their unique typings. Etrian Ninetales, for example, with the Fire/Electric typing, became one of my biggest players. Plusle and Minun's Battle Bond forms were great, mainly when the opposing mons don't use spread moves. Spamming Follow Me with Plusle and setup sweeping with Minun made some battles so easy. Plusle partnering with other mons also led to other sweeping scenarios. One sweeper I slacked on was Etrian Electivire, only because I didn't know that its Limit Break move was Shell Smash! The description said "Offensive stats," and I thought that only meant Attack and Special Attack. If I realized that sooner, I would've at least tried Electivire for the endgame gauntlet. It was a pretty small roster, I found myself using a lot of the same Electric-types. I mostly avoided using pure Electric-types. Jolteon and Manectric weren't used at all, for example. Gorochu and Xatu were other big players, their types are Electric/Fighting and Electric/Aether, respectively. The music's from Etrian Odyssey.
