Erica is a runner, writer, filmmaker and storyteller based in Sydney. Her non-fiction writing and documentary photography have featured in Australian and international publications. In 2008, Erica Harrison was hit by a car. She didn't walk for six months afterwards and faced the possibility of losing her leg. So naturally, she began to write a comic story in rhyming verse. Five years later, the story that began as a way of coping with loss, A Cautionary Tail, has been brought to life as a short animated film starring David Wenham, Barry Otto, and Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett with animation by some of the talent behind such productions as Happy Feet. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
