Dr. Shrirang Upasani speaks about and demonstrates how he blended his passion for music with his medical profession and fulfilled his dream of being able to implement musical therapy with Indian classical music. Dr. Shrirang Upasani is a graduate in Homeopathy from the University of Pune, known for his research, and has presented his work in India and abroad, but that’s not where his expertise ends! Music runs in his blood-his great grandfather was a renowned Kirtankaar and Dr Upasani is the lead singer of a Pune based musical group. He has has synergized this interest in music together with his medical background for research and practice of Music Therapy – based on the principles of Raagas together with Ayurveda and Yoga. In this he uses both Indian classical alone and in fusion with Western music. Through Music Therapy, Dr. Upasani has helped people overcome physical and psychological ailments, and to experience higher states of spiritual bliss.
