24-Year-Old Instacart Delivery Driver is Arrested for Drunk Driving

On November 21, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Lieutenant Hetes stopped a 24-year-old woman for speeding. She indicated that she was an Instacart delivery driver who had just finished deliveries and was heading home. She also indicated that she had received a speeding citation the night before. Officer Haughney was called to initiate a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. Although the woman denied consuming alcohol, she was asked to step out of her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She also provided a breath sample into a portable breath test device. The result was 0.117% BAC. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She then agreed to provide two breath samples for an evidential breath test. The results were both 0.12% BAC. She was charged with DWI and speeding. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
