Each of these vehicles make sense from a desirability standpoint, reliability standpoint and resale standpoint. For starters, let me be clear. The following vehicles I believe will be the wisest purchases for longevity in reliability and longterm residual value. Keeping this list realistic: BEST USED VEHICLES TO BUY: 2023 and older Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. Last of the NA V6. 2024 and older Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. Last of the NA V6. Rugged body on frame design. Perfect balance of simplicity, off road prowess and exceptional resale. Timeless design. Ford Excursion. 1999 to 2005. Specifically, the 7.3L and 6.0L Power Stroke diesel engines. Rugged family haulers that last. 3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner. Iconic platform with bulletproof reliability. 3.4L V6. Timeless design cues. 2021 and older Land Cruiser Heritage Edition. Last real Land Cruiser for the US. Bank vault. 500K+ mile vehicle. Amazing resale. 2023 and older Lexus GX460. Bulletproof platform with 4.6L V8. Simplistic reliable and affordable. Honda Ridgeline.
