This nice young family had a problem with standing water. The walkway and the old concrete patio are the lowest spots on their property. Their backyard is sloped towards the house and they are lower than the neighbor's driveway. We couldn't just raise the elevation of the patio and walkway. They have a low backdoor, the town is very strict that the water must be contained on their property and not discharge to the street. We also know that they have a high water table at about 12 inches. In this video we demo and remove the existing reinforced concrete walkway and patio. We excavate for the leach field / soakaway, tie in the 2 downspouts on this side of the house and backfill with tons drainage stone.
