Reversible Bunny Trio DIY | Polka Dots, Plaid + “Chocolate” Bunnies for Spring and Easter Decor Hey y’all, it’s Debbie from Refresh Restyle! In this live craft, we turn a set of wooden bunny cutouts into the cutest reversible spring decor. One side is stained dark like classic chocolate bunnies (with sweet little tails!), and the other side is bright and happy with polka dots and plaid in a fresh spring palette. Perfect for mantels, tiered trays, entry tables, or your Easter buffet. What you’ll learn in this video: How to prep, paint, and stain wooden cutouts for a smooth finish Why waxing before using silkscreen transfers helps you get crisp designs The peel-and-reveal method for perfect polka dots and plaid How to keep paste from drying in the screen (and how to fix it if it does) Styling ideas: ribbons, raffia bows, and faux florals to finish the look How to make double-sided decor you can flip all season long Materials I used: Wooden Bunny Trio cutouts with stands (any similar set works) White chalk paste/paint for the patterned side Water-based wood stain in Americana Walnut for the “chocolate” side Silkscreen transfers/stencils: plaid and small polka dots Paste colors: Sea Glass, Lime Sorbet, and Tropic Surface wax, squeegee, heat tool or hair dryer, paper towels Dish-drying mat for easy transfer cleaning Bunny tails (pom-poms), hot glue gun Raffia/ribbon and faux forsythia stems for embellishing Scissors, sanding block Pro tips: Double-coat the white side for bright, clean patterns. Lightly wax painted wood before transferring—your paste won’t pull up and details stay sharp. For tiny dots, clean the transfer between pulls so paste doesn’t dry in the screen. If you’re repeating a small element (like tails/dots), lift-and-peek as you go to avoid drying in place. Glue bunny tails last so you can flip the decor without smudging. Mix ribbons and raffia for dimension, and tuck in small stems of faux florals for a spring pop.
