Day 15 Locations: Floating Continent, Solitary Island, Albrook Steps Taken: 32,928 Playtime: 37 minutes Total Playtime: 16:43 Characters: Locke (L20) Terra (L21) Cyan (L20) Shadow (L20) Celes (L20) This was an eventful in game, but not long day. To be honest, I expected the Atma Weapon to give me way more trouble, especially when I turned time battle back to active. The 1st time, he owned me with Quake when I wasn't healed well and then killed Terra with Fire 2. The 2nd time, I didn't even grab the Beret and went straight for him, even forgetting that the Charm Bangle was still on Shadow, so his Atlas Armlet wasn't equipped. He still did good damage, but he'd have been doing a few hundred more with that. The Atma Weapon I've found can be extremely difficult at this level with these battle settings, he knows a ton of really dangerous attacks, and I'm so surprised he didn't use most of them. He almost always uses his Mind Blast attack when I fight him, but I guess I was dishing out just enough damage to skip that phase. Terra doing 3,000 damage with a level 2 spell at only 21 goes to show how dangerous she'll really get, especially considering the fairly high magic defense Atma has. It did look like a close call at the end, once he starts using Quarter or Whirlwind, he's almost done for which is the reason I didn't worry too much and just went for attacking. A final Fire 2 dealing over 3,000 was enough to claim my victory. I'm glad he gave me some trouble for at least 1 fight, though I wish it would've been a bit more cinematic considering my middle file which is very similar here I've had myself die to the Atma weapon like 5+ times in a row from it spamming dangerous attacks. This guy has a very deep bag as far as dangerous spells go, you really should be closer to level 25. In any case, I won, and Shadow had to run off again. The reason I merged the video here is because I spent like a minute looking in my menu for the Charm Bangle. Sometimes I can be totally blind like that, but I forgot that Shadow still had it on. Since you can still go back to the airship, you'd be able to recruit Shadow once more on another visit here, but he'll still run off when you reach the stairs leading to Kefka, Gestahl and the Warring Triad. With that being said, it was time to confront them, and Celes came along too for her redemption. This scene doesn't need to be described, it needs to be watched. But I will give credit to Nintendo of America for missing the line from Kefka: "kill the others and we'll overlook your treachery." When I regained control after Shadow came to free everyone, there was my Charm Bangle which I put on Celes. I grabbed the Elixir which I didn't need to, but had more than enough time. Even fought a few extra Naughtys for MP and learned a couple spells. Once I got to the end, I did the typical waiting. However, if you don't go up to the ship and refuse to jump, Shadow won't show up. If you didn't know that, now you do. My last playthrough, I remember not going up to it and just waiting for the 5 second countdown and he never came. An interesting glitch happened here actually that carried into Celes waking up from her coma. You can start walking when Shadow is appearing, but I guess since I was behind a layer, only half of Cyan's body was visible, so when Celes got out of bed, half her body was missing too. That happened to me once before and I never thought of the connection. The world is forever damaged as Celes wakes up nearly a year later. Cid has COVID and didn't get his vax, too bad pal, pescatarianism isn't the cure. I mean, I at least tried at first, but the fish were not being too nice. For the first time in a 24 Days, I let him die, and honestly, it feels more important to the story. Maybe if you got any reward for saving him, it'd be worth it. You don't even get as much as an Elixir or mini scene. You get nothing. And hey, it's actually ingenious to put the fate in our hands. He's the one who created the Magitek Technology which get this war really moving, and infused Kefka of all people 1st. An already unstable guy to begin with. Cid isn't exactly evil, but he wasn't good either. I guess the test was a complete success because he created a God... Still, the scene of Celes going to throw herself off a cliff will always be chilling. It really emphasizes how dark and hopeless things start out here. I took the raft over to Albrook and did minor shopping, grabbed some Earrings that I knew would be handy for later, I'm loaded from all my grinding. An NPC remarks how Kefka is "like a God" which I'm surprised Nintendo allowed. Walked north towards Tzen after and saved, ending Day 15 in a now ruined world.
