I Raced Up An EXTINCT VOLCANO (And Got Crushed At The Finish!)

They said the Midlands are flat. They lied. Today I’m taking on Beacon Hill Parkrun, a brutal 5K route that climbs a 700-million-year-old extinct volcano. This isn't your normal Saturday morning jog. The race starts with a relentless 1.5km grind straight to the summit. I managed to battle my way into a good position on the climb, but the "gravity dividend" on the 2km downhill changed everything. Watch until the final 150m to see me get absolutely humbled by a local sprinter who came out of nowhere! 🏃‍♂️ THE RUN: Beacon Hill Country Park is the 2nd highest point in Leicestershire, just outside of Loughborough.
