Weaving tales through Kathak | Shubhi Johari and Amit Khinchi | TEDxKIET

Both Amit Khinchi & Shubhi Johari are the alluring duo of Kathak dance form. They laid the foundation of Samantaa Dance Company aiming to bring together the perfect blend of both aspects of Kathak i.e. beauty and ‘andaaz’ of Jaipur & Lucknow. In their talk, they manifested the beauty of nature by giving an instance of Lord Shiva and Shakti, the sun and the moon, a man and a woman, both of them are dependent on each other if one exists then the other does. They gave an energetic and mesmerizing Kathak performance in the beginning and elucidated the meaning of ‘sam’ and ‘purak’ in the aspect of coexistence. Amit & Shubhi are Indian Classical dancers, who laid the foundation of Samanta Dance Academy 10 years back aiming to bring together perfect blend of both aspects of Kathak i.e. beauty & andaaz of Lucknow and taiyyari 7 speed of Jaipur giving completeness to the dance form. Currently, both of them are directors of the company and are imparting dance education to the younger generation and keeping alive the legacy of their cultural background.
