Konnichiwa! I have heard so many people say, "I didn't know I should lift my left index finger up for kan on 1!" I mean, it is NOT wrong to have the left index finger down, but for most shinobue, having the left index finger lifted will result in a better tone. You should try both ways with your shinobue and see! And if it sounds better with your left index finger up, then make the switch. Once you get used to playing one way, making the switch is hard. Hopefully, this information came to you early in your shinobue practice. If the note is short, you can do it either way. It probably doesn't make that much of a difference. But if the note is long, be sure to use the best fingering for your shinobue. Feel free to comment if you have any questions! 😀 🎋Playlists🎋 🪴Just got my shinobue, now what? • Just Got My 1st Shinobue. Now What? (For B... 🪴What is shinobue?
