Do your knees hurt? It’s frustrating and can feel tough to get in a good lower body workout! In this video we give you nine of our favorite exercises to test out when you’re in this situation. These are exercises you’ll likely be able to add weight and push a bit harder, even when your knees are achy. You can continue to strengthen the lower body while you see a specialist or problem solve the issue. For most of the exercises, we’re looking to reduce the amount of knee movement and increase the amount of hip movement. For some of the other exercises - like the foot elevated assisted split squat and the spanish squat - we’re looking to test out knee movement with a little less pressure and stress than some traditional lower body exercises. You don’t need to do all of these exercises in your training! Test out a few reps of each.
