Located on an island west of the city of Adak is the picturesque Kanaga volcano. This volcano is one of the region's most active, and is most famous for its beautiful and thick andesite lava flows. However, Kanaga is also prone to produce large volume summit collapses. One such collapse occurred in the last 15,000 years, sending large swaths of a prior volcano up to 20 miles to the north. This video will discuss the Kanaga volcano and mention what its future hazards are. If you would like to support this channel, consider becoming a patron at / geologyhub .
