Most lifters rely on science based lifting to tell them exactly how to train — but that’s not what the science actually does. In this video, I break down what evidence can truly explain… and where evidence based training stops being useful. “Science-based training” has become a buzzword. People expect studies to tell them the perfect exercise, the best set and rep scheme, or the exact program they should run. But biology doesn’t work that way. In this video, I explain the limitations of evidence based lifting, why studies only provide general principles, and why individual responses, adaptation, and long-term progress require coaching judgment — not rigid protocols. You’ll learn what science can tell us about strength training (fatigue, adaptation, energy systems, overload), and what it cannot predict (your optimal program, your best exercises, or how you personally respond to a stimulus). This breakdown will help athletes and coaches use science correctly — as a map, not a script.
