Дніпро; Річковий вокзал The River Station in Dnipro stands on the right bank of the great river and is perceived as part of the large panoramic embankment façade. It was conceived not as a separate service facility, but as a noticeable urban accent next to the port area and the wide riverside space that forms one of the most recognizable views of the Dnipro. The modern building was commissioned in 1988. Local architectural reviews indicate that the design was contributed by V. Vesnin, A. Khnychev, T. Svirezheva, and S. Saprunova; the station was built during a period of active rethinking of the embankment as a ceremonial urban line connected to the river port and passenger service. During the Soviet decades, river transport on the Dnieper was of great importance: freight, pleasure boats, and longer-distance voyages operated along the river, and the station itself was a symbol of this river life. Later, the importance of passenger shipping began to decline, and the building gradually lost its former role. It's significant that even in newer transport routes, the name "River Station" lives on as an important urban landmark.
