Using the FMS (Functional Movement Screen) test will reveal which body part and why is holding you back from a good squat. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is an innovative system used to evaluate movement pattern quality. It was developed to help screen individuals for risk of injury and / or a dysfunctional or performance-limiting movement pattern. The FMS identifies imbalances in mobility and stability during seven fundamental movement patterns. Once these deficiencies have been identified through the FMS, a program of corrective exercises is developed to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. The FMS consists of seven movement patterns which require mobility and stability. The seven movement patterns are scored from 0-3 points, with the sum creating a score ranging from 0-21 points.
