While the CPR was built across Canada, these Section Houses were built every 9 miles to house work crews, foremen, road masters and their families. In the min 1960's there were either dismantled, burned or moved. There are few remaining. Some are abandoned on farmer's land and used as storage or left for sentimental and historical purposes, or they are renovated and still lived in today. This particular CPR Section House was purchased by Francis Tuttle and moved to his land in the min 1960's. The move cost more that the house. He moved it onto his land but didn't live in it. Francis worked for the CPR his whole adult life and it was speculated that he saved it for sentimental reasons. Francis was a hard worker. It is speculated that he passed away from exhaustion causing heart failure when he was only 60 years old in 1975. He was found in his truck after a long days work at the CPR and then tending to his cattle. Permission Required. Contact information will not be given out. Thanks for understanding.
