Join me in this week’s workout set for building explosive fire power in my garage gym as I walk you through my sets and give a bit of insight as to why I’m employing these movements. The goal here was to build explosive power and train the two anerobic energy systems the ATP-PC (alactic) system and the lactic acid system (glycolytic system); both produce energy rapidly without oxygen, but the ATP-PC system provides very short bursts of energy for activities like a sprint start, while the lactic acid system can sustain slightly longer high-intensity efforts such as in kickboxing. I believe that inside each of us is an internal fire inside. That fire needs to be build in order to keep passion, love, grit, empathy, strength, and a passion for living life in order to thrive and be shared with those we love. Physical movement is but one of many ways that can build our fire. Other ways are through ceremony, meditation, song, dance, being on the land, and connecting with others.
