Learn to jump into Bakasana position in the Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate Series with Ethan Ward (Authorized Level II teacher) | Posted: June 2020 Watch Next: Why You Can't Jump Back • Why You Can't Jump Back | Ashtanga Yoga Alright Yogis! In this video we'll be exploring the jump forward into Bakasana position. This is a really challenging vinyasa in the Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate Series. Learning to do this proficiently can be a long term process so put the work in and as always, be patient! This vinyasa does require deep core strength and healthy stability in the shoulders and arms. It is advisable to approach this posture with the guidance of an experienced teacher of traditional Ashtanga Yoga, and only begin working on it after building a strong & well established practice of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series and the Second Series asanas up until this point. Bakasana, the crane posture (sometimes referred to as crow pose) is key in stabilising the spine after the backbending section of the sequence. Here in the video I'll touch on just a few of the many many cues that may be useful. Subscribe by hitting the red button above to see upcoming videos. Remember that landing in Bakasana requires a fearless jump // Be brave, yogi! You're welcome to share this video with yogis. I hope it will be useful to those who are working on the Intermediate Series! Actual Love to all!
