How is it possible to have intimacy with God? ——————————————————————— DEVOTIONAL: To share intimacy means to be completely vulnerable to someone, to know fully and be fully known. Intimacy occurs in only the most personal relationships. We often resist being vulnerable to God about our sins, especially the ones we don't want to give up, but intimacy requires full disclosure not hiding or covering up. When we admit and confess our sin, seek forgiveness, and commit ourselves to obeying God, our relationship with God is restored and we can know Him in a truly intimate way. God is a personal being who created people for the purpose of intimacy with Himself. When you respond and accept His love, He becomes closer than a brother or even a spouse. ——————————————————————— GOD'S RESPONSE: I will be with you, and I will protect you wherever you go... will be with you constantly until I have finished giving you everything have promised. ~Genesis 28:15 "In that coming day," says the LORD, "you will call Me 'my husband' instead of 'my master.'... I will make you My wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion." ~Hosea 2:16,19 ——————————————————————— GOD'S PROMISE: The LORD your God has arrived to live among you ... He will exult over you by singing a happy song. ~Zephaniah 3:17 ——————————————————————— PERSONAL TAKEAWAY: Pursuit. The relationship in a high speed chase the ‘criminal’ flees from the cops and the officers pursue the suspect at high speeds in hopes to capture him/her. Once captured, the criminal is taken away to prison. Now let’s spin it to our relationship with God. The Lord is in high pursuit of us and because of sin we are constantly driving away from Him. The only difference is Christ drives slowly while we speed away. When we get to far we stop the car and try to hear the sirens of Christ (His voice) but in order to hear clearly and find Him we must turn ourselves in. My realization as I write this is “would we flee if we knew the officer chasing us just wanted to help and guide us to safety?” I think not. So thank you Father for always doing your best to lead us to safety and protection. #pursuing #christ #becoming #creator #devotional
