You obsess over gear choices and take steps to have your equipment as dialed in as possible. You optimize nutrition and recovery. Yet, despite your dedication you may be neglecting one of the most important aspects of being an athlete: Your Mind. Despite all your best efforts to prepare for the physical demands of your training and racing schedule, none of them are going to save you when: You’re in the middle of a workout and give up on the next interval because you tell yourself it’s too hard. Worse - you begin doubting whether you have what it takes to be successful on race day. For no particular rhyme or reason, anxiety intrudes your thoughts, and you begin questioning whether or not you even belong on the starting line. Race day is 2 weeks away and taper madness has you wondering if you’ve adequately prepared or if you should cram in another set of intervals. You’re in the middle of the race and mounting fatigue has you questioning whether or not your goals are even worth continuing or if you should just step off the course.
