Day 5 , Front Body Flow (Strong Backbone, Open Heart) We’re on Day 5 of our challenge. Yesterday was all about the hamstrings , lots of forward folding and bending. So today we balance that out with a front body flow. Like with the other flows, you’ll increase circulation, and you’ll feel your joints move more smoothly. The focus today is lengthening the front chain of the body while bringing more strength into the back chain. One of my teachers says it perfectly: Strong backbone. Soft heart. And yes, you can think of this as saying yes to life through posture. Here’s the interesting part: A lot of research shows that posture and emotional state are connected. When people feel sad, stressed, or worried, the body naturally shifts into a more protective shape: head drifting toward the chest shoulders rounding forward spine collapsing a bit So when we practice opening the front body, especially the chest and hip flexors, it doesn’t just affect your muscles. It can also affect your mood and mindset. In this flow, you’ll guide the body back toward a more upright shape: Head balanced over heart. Chest open. More space to breathe. That’s the posture of optimism and a touch more enthusiasm. And just to be clear: Saying yes to life first doesn’t mean you can’t say no right after. 😉 It just means you’ll perceive more clearly what’s life-giving, because you’re not collapsed into defense mode. So as you move through today’s flow, keep it simple: Align movement with breath. Let the rhythm carry you. And let the shape of the practice guide you into a more open, positive, upright state.
