GOTO Track 01 // Rewind & Repeat CRIMSON UPRISING is the newest transmission in my ongoing PSX series, a love letter to the hazy glow of late 90s and Y2K electronic music. I grew up obsessed with atmospheric drum and bass, ambient jungle tapes, and the fictional soundtracks of low-budget PlayStation games that never really existed but somehow lived in my imagination. This album continues that world, blending soft pads, restless breaks, and distant synth choirs into something that feels like discovering a scratched PS1 disc labeled only in red marker: CRIMSON UPRISING. In this entry, the album acts as the original soundtrack to a 3D, low-poly, third-person PS1 mecha game where you pilot the prototype unit “CRIMSON UPRISING.” The mission is classified: descend into the Red Sector, a quarantined continental zone swallowed by a strange atmospheric anomaly known as the Scarlet Halo. Seas have turned to reflective glass, forests crystallize mid-growth, and abandoned research monoliths pierce the fog like broken tuning forks. Each track underscores a different operation as you boost, glide, and strafe through angular canyons and flickering skyboxes. Enemy resistance comes in the form of corrupted maintenance bots and repurposed security mechs left behind after a failed classified operation. Their AI loops fractured under the Halo’s signal, causing them to chant fragments of old command strings while attacking on sight. Between combat sorties, you receive fragmented transmissions from a ghost-operator known only as VIREX, guiding you toward the anomaly’s core. The deeper you travel, the more the environment bends: gravity stutters, textures smear, and the sky renders in layers of deep crimson and burnt violet. The production of the album is mainly centered around textures, one-shots and breaks coming from 90s sample CDs, together with selected samples, chops, melodic flips and atmospheric manipulations of PSX soundtracks. Best enjoyed during late-night coding sessions under dim red light, but also just while commuting, studying, or zoning out with your headphones on. Thank you for continuing to explore these strange low-poly worlds with me. Your support gives this project purpose, and I am constantly learning, refining, and pushing my sound further for you. I will keep building these universes as long as you are willing to step inside them.
