Certified Translator and Licensed Court Interpreter Marco Hanson introduces the field of T&I studies, followed by: Esther Diaz, Austin Community College Veronika Demichelis, Houston Community College Dr. Rey Romero, University of Houston - Downtown Dr. Mónica de la Fuente, University of Texas - Arlington Marco Hanson, University of Texas - Austin Dr. Nazaret Fresno, University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley Dr. Melissa Wallace, University of Texas - San Antonio The speakers describe a wide variety of programs for translation, interpretation and localization. Most are English-Spanish, some are language neutral, and one offers other languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Korean and Russian). They lead alternately to a certificate, associate's degree, undergraduate minor, bachelor's degree or master's degree. Some are designed to fulfill orientation requirements for interpreter certification or licensing, and to prepare students for those professional exams.
