This core HIIT strength workout is designed to build sustained power and fatigue resistance in runners. Not by chasing exhaustion, but by training the systems that fail first when running form breaks down. The session combines loaded core work and bodyweight movements in short, demanding supersets. This challenges trunk stability, hip control, and coordination under rising fatigue, which mirrors what happens late in long runs, hard workouts, and races. The exercises emphasize: ✅ Anti-rotation and anti-extension core control, which helps limit excess trunk movement as fatigue accumulates. ✅ Lumbopelvic stability, supporting efficient force transfer between the upper and lower body. ✅ Hip and posterior-chain endurance, which plays a role in maintaining stride mechanics and reducing compensatory movement. ✅ Controlled intensity, where form and coordination matter more than speed. 🔥 This is not maximal strength training and it is not a replacement for running. It is targeted strength work meant to support running durability by improving how well you hold position and movement quality when tired. The workout uses dumbbells and bodyweight exercises and can be done at home. One round is sufficient for most runners. A second round can be added by advanced athletes during appropriate training phases. Best used as supplemental strength work during base, build, or maintenance periods when the goal is to run better under fatigue, not just get stronger on paper.
