"Mangaloreans Will Agree That Pullimunchi Is Love. 💖 Now, with the little broken Tulu that I know, if you ask me to translate the word 'Pullimunchi,' it basically means Sour & spicy. 🌶️ The sourness comes from tamarind, and the heat comes from the masala. 🔥 Being away from home for a few years really helped me appreciate home food more. I've cooked in different countries with the best of ingredients, but home food just hits differently. 😌 I hope you guys try the recipe too! For the fellow Mangaloreans, let me know if the recipe is approved, and I'll see you guys later. 🍲✨ Meen Pullimunchi 🐟 Ingredients: 4-5 Baidige Chillies 2-3 Kashmiri Chillies 1 tbsp Coriander seeds/Dhaniya 1 tsp Cumin Seeds/Jeera 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds/Rai 10-12 Black Peppercorns 2-3 fenugreek seeds/Methi 3-4 garlic 1 small onion 2 pcs peeled Ginger 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder Other ingredients: 2 tbsp oil 1 tbsp chopped onions 5-6 curry leaves 2 tbsp Tamarind (soaked in 1/4 cup hot water) Salt to taste 5 pcs King Fish 2 slit green chillies A few pcs julienned ginger Method: 1. Heat a pan and dry roast the chillies until they start to smoke up a bit and get soft. Take it off the heat and let it cool. In the same pan, start dry roasting all the spices. 2. Dry roast on medium heat for 2-3 mins until they start to smoke a bit and get a little golden. Transfer to the bowl with the chillies, let them cool completely, and grind into a fine paste. 3. In a kadai, heat oil and fry the chopped onion and curry leaves until the edges of the onions just start to brown. Add the paste along with water & adjust the consistency to a thin curry. 4. Season it well with some salt, simmer, add ginger juliennes and slit green chillies. Adjust the sourness with tamarind, mix well, and let it simmer for 6-7 mins on medium heat. 5. Add the fish, add more water if required, and let the fish slowly poach in the curry for 5-6 mins on medium heat. 6. Check the salt while the fish is cooking and don’t stir once you add the fish. 7. Serve hot with dosas or rice. 🍛🍚 Enjoy!" #HomeCooking #MangaloreanDelight #FoodieAdventures #RecipeLove #TuluFlavors #SpicySourMagic #GlobalCuisine #FamilyRecipe #FoodJourney #CookingAbroad #AuthenticFlavors #TasteOfHome #DeliciousMemories #FishCurry #CulinaryExplore #KitchenCreations
