If accessing your emotions feels difficult, it does not mean something is wrong with you. Often, the impulse to shut down is your mind and body trying to protect you. The challenge is that when emotions are pushed away, they cannot move through us. Over time, they can become stuck in the body, dull our sense of aliveness, and make it harder to process what we experience. Self-compassion creates a sense of safety that allows emotions to emerge gradually. When you remind yourself that you are here for yourself, that nothing terrible will happen, your system begins to soften. From that place, you can start small. Naming what you feel. Allowing just a little sensation in the body. Offering yourself gentle touch or reassuring words. There is no rush. Opening to emotions is not about being overwhelmed. It is about moving slowly enough to feel safe. Step by step, your capacity to feel grows, and what once felt threatening becomes something you can hold with kindness. #SelfCompassion #EmotionalSafety #FeelYourFeelings #EmotionalWellbeing
