This recipe combines crispy lardons, golden fried cabécou, crunchy walnuts, fresh salad, and a homemade balsamic-shallot dressing. It’s simple, satisfying, and ready in minutes. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! 👇 Full recipe card below 👇 📇 Warm Cabécou Salad – Recipe Card Serves: 2 Category: Salad / High-Protein / Weight-Loss Friendly Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins 🥗 Ingredients Salad 6 cabécou cheese rounds 100g lardons 2 tomatoes, sliced 1 head of lettuce (your choice), chopped Walnuts (a handful) ½ cup flour 1 egg, beaten ½ cup breadcrumbs 50g butter 1 tbsp honey (for drizzling) Dressing 1 tbsp finely chopped shallots 2 tbsp avocado oil 1½ tbsp balsamic vinegar ¼ tsp garlic (crushed or granules) ¼ tbsp Dijon mustard Salt & white pepper to taste 👩🍳 Method Cook the lardons Fry lardons in a pan for 5–7 minutes until crisp. Set aside. Make the dressing Add all dressing ingredients to a jug and whisk until combined. Build the salad Place lettuce and tomatoes into serving bowls. Add the walnuts, dressing, and crispy lardons. Set aside while you cook the cheese. Prepare the cabécou Coat each cheese round in flour → then beaten egg → then breadcrumbs. Set on a plate ready for frying. Fry the cheese Melt the butter in a frying pan or griddle pan. Fry the cabécou for 1 minute per side until golden and warmed through. Assemble Place the warm cheese on top of the salad. Drizzle with honey. Serve immediately and enjoy — we definitely did!
