Today’s run starts in Stockton, California, where we’re picking up a load of prepackaged food headed to Morris, Illinois for an 8:00am delivery on 3/21/26. The plan for this first leg is to put together a strong eastbound day and make it somewhere close to the Nevada/Utah state line before shutting down. This drive begins in California’s Central Valley, using CA-99 to work north out of Stockton before connecting with I-80 eastbound. From there, the route takes us through the Sacramento area and then up into the Sierra, where the road climbs through mountain country before dropping into Nevada. After that, it turns into a long high-desert run across the state, carrying us past freight-heavy I-80 country through places like Reno, Fernley, Lovelock, Winnemucca, Battle Mountain, Elko, and Wells as we work east toward the Utah line. It’s the kind of day that changes a lot from start to finish, going from valley traffic to mountain grades and then into wide open desert miles across northern Nevada. This should be a good western run with a lot of variety packed into one day, from California farmland to Sierra scenery to long stretches of Nevada interstate. Ride along with us as we get this load moving east and see how close we can get to Utah by the end of the day.
