Start Fixin Yo’ Self - https://moveu.com #MoveU #FixYoShit #ComeBackStronger Knee pain? Meniscus injury? This is for you. Tag a friend who needs to see this! The meniscus is a rubbery cushion between the thigh and shin bones in the knee. It’s commonly injured during a loaded twisting motion of the knee. (Think sports like basketball, soccer, football, or like @MoveUSam, Skiing.) This exercise with the towel may help you restore some movement in the knee and can take some pressure off the meniscus temporarily. It may also help with some fluid circulation in the surrounding tissues. You will find it more comfortable to do this on a soft surface like the table Sam is on, or a couch, bed, pillow, etc. Getting to work on strengthening and stability exercises for the knee is going to be a huge help in most cases. Paying attention to the knee tracking during a squat, lunge, while walking, and during all movements of your life will be helpful. See how often you are twisting and loading the knee routinely during the day. NOW, can you load the knee in any position? Yes. If you are working to strengthen the knee in ALL kinds of movements and alignments GREAT! It’s likely that you will decrease your risk of injury by doing this. The injuries usually occur when the knee is moved into a range or position where there is no control or strength. If you are like MOST people and have only strengthened the knee in the same position over and over then start strengthening it in new and different positions. Start very gradually and build up. Don’t jump right into trying to do crazy positions that load the knee up without building up to that control and strength. But I’d argue that you need a basic understanding of what the knee does, how it moves, and where you are stable and unstable. Want more help from us? Head over to MoveU and enroll in the program.
