This video presents the bells h0 -d1 -e1 -f#1 (g1) -a1 [si2 -re3 -mi3 -fa#3 -(sol3) -la3 of St Arbogast city church in Haslach in Kinzigtal. ➥ The ‘Susanna’ [VI] is the oldest bell in St Arbogast and has fortunately survived to this day. It was cast in 1492 by bell founders from Eslass who are no longer known by name. At that time, they were increasingly travelling around southern Germany as itinerant casters and probably also came to Haslach in this form. Until a few years ago, the bell could only be rung manually or not at all, but it now has an electric ringing system and can theoretically finally be rung together with the other bells. The main peal rings out from the mighty choir tower. The five new bells were cast in 1954 by the Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling foundry in Heidelberg. The master used the "special" bell shape. The powerful sound, the dynamics with the light clappers and the high ringing angle, but above all the open suspension without sound shutters make the ensemble in Haslach a special sound experience at a not inconsiderable volume. The ‘Susanna’ [VI] in the west tower has almost no chance against this powerful sound effect, although it integrates very attractively in terms of sound.
