This is our sourdough starter recipe where we will show you how to make a sourdough starter from scratch. This is a no yeast method using the natural Lactobacillus in the air, and uses no sugar either. We are making our sourdough starter with whole wheat flour, using instructions for making a sourdough starter from Heather at The Kneady Homesteader channel. Sourdough Starter Recipe For Day 01 50g Whole Wheat or Rye Flour 50g Warm Dechlorinated Water Add both to a wide mouth pint jar and stir well. Mark the level of your starter with a hair band. Cover the top with either a loose Mason lid or a coffee filter held on by a hair band. Then place in a warm dark place until Day 02 and we will pick things up there in the next video. And for goodness sakes, give you starter a name... LOL You will be feeding and housing it for a while... #Sourdough
