Gain the strength, knowledge, and confidence to fly! In this tutorial, we'll cover all the basics from responsibilities as a flyer to workouts and stretches. With Guest Demonstrator: JEREMY DEVENS "Quietmind Yoga": / aspiralout / quiet_mind_yoga Instructor: JOY SCOLA: https://www.joyscola.com / joyscola ------------------------------------------------------------------- There's a saying in yoga: Finding balance in the physical will help you find balance in the mind. I believe the same is true for trust. Finding trust in the physical will help you find trust in the mental. And that's what Acro Yoga allowed me to do. Have you been curious about AcroYoga? It is a fun way to play, be healthy and use your body. Acrobatic yoga is not only a great way to stretch, strengthen and cultivate balance in our bodies but it is also a wonderful way to connect and grow with others. What is Acrobatic Yoga? -There are three elements to Acro Yoga: Acrobatics, Yoga, Therapeutics Acrobatics - The physical part of Acro Yoga uses gymnastic techniques to build strength, flexibility, trust, and communication. Yoga - Reflects the physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines of Yoga. Therapeutics - Includes Thai Massage and inversion therapy. -There are three primary roles: Base, Flyer, and Spotter. Base - The person lying on the ground. The main points of contact with the flyer are the feet (generally placed on the Flyer's hips/groin) and hands. Flyer - The person who is raised off the ground by the base. The Flyer can move into a series of dynamic positions. Spotter - The person who assists in helping the flyer stay up or safely lower down in case of any slips and can aid in Flyer to Base/Base to Flyer communications. Can Anyone BASE? Technically yes but....generally it is easier for the base if they are larger and stronger than the flyer. So most of the time if you are a larger person you will have to find a larger and stronger base which could be harder to find. However, after much practice and guidance, a smaller person may be capable of basing someone much larger than them. Benefits of inversion: Relieves back pain by re-hydrating the discs between your vertebra allowing for greater flexibility, shock absorption, and support. Improve's blood circulation which delivers fresh oxygen and nutrients to the heart and brain. Inversion therapy could be the answer to years of chronic pain, the solution to mental decline, or the opportunity to recapture your youthful strength and vigor. The practice takes only minutes each day. Regular practice of daily inversion carries long-term powerful benefits forward into getting your overall health right-side-up. Decreases anxiety and aids in countering insomnia by releasing neurotransmitters that regulate hormones as well as relax the muscles. Shot in 4K!
