How to get out of victim mentality after being bullied: Become a C.U.N.T C - Create a new rhythm. Slow down communication. Be less present. Reply to texts and invites less and less. Also, if they address you, literally answer slowly. Count to three before saying anything. U- Unresponsiveness. When they make jokes about you, don’t respond. When they ask you questions, be curious (deliver a “hmm…why do you ask?” Or “hmm…why do you want to know that information?”) N- Narrate the scene. Call out the behaviour (not the real one, but the mask that’s being worn). Bullies tend to deliver their attacks in socially acceptable ways, namely jokes and questions (uncomfortable ones or negative-framed ones). ✅ If they deliver a question, say, “interesting question…are you always this curious?” ✅ If they make jokes about you, say, “ …” nothing and raise an eyebrow. T- Tango and Test. It takes two to tango. Assume responsibility for your side of the dynamic. If the dynamic has gone on for a long time, or seems to repeat itself in any social circle you find yourself in, even when you change jobs, friends, partner, etc, then realise that you have played a role in allowing it to go on. From now on, you will withhold your presence, personality, and thoughts until you know it’s safe. You test with small parts of yourself before offering your full presence. Even be slightly cold or mean, before showing your nice side. It’s not to play games. It’s to protect yourself. This testing aspect is especially important if you are neurodivergent and miss social cues. It’s not about being paranoid, but prepared. #bullying #advice
