GOTO Track 01 // Rewind & Repeat IRON ASCENSION is a new entry in my ongoing PSX series, where I reimagine lost 90s and Y2K-era soundtracks from fictional PlayStation worlds. This album is deeply inspired by atmospheric drum and bass, ambient jungle, and liquid DnB that once lived in the shadows of late-night radio sets and memory card save screens. I wanted it to feel like discovering a forgotten PS1 mecha game in a dusty jewel case—low resolution visuals, high emotion, and breakbeats echoing through polygonal skies. In this imagined game, you pilot the IRON ASCENSION, a third-person, low-poly combat frame deployed to investigate a classified orbital anomaly. The campaign begins in vast desert salt flats rendered in shimmering gradients, where distant monoliths pierce a burnt-orange sky. As the pilot, you boost across fractured terrain, scanning energy signatures while corrupted reconnaissance bots emerge from beneath the sand. Every mission feels isolated and heavy, with minimal HUD elements and long stretches of atmospheric traversal before sudden bursts of mechanical combat. Midway through the game, the environments shift into impossible natural wonders: crystal-lined caverns with reflective low-res textures, floating archipelagos suspended over an endless sea, and a storm-wrapped canyon where lightning flickers at 12 frames per second. The IRON ASCENSION must navigate magnetic anomalies, escort damaged allied units, and uncover a classified operation that has been rewriting machine consciousness. The final act takes place in a vertical ascent through a glitched sky tower, where gravity distorts and hostile units move with unsettling, almost sentient patterns. The production of the album is mainly centered around textures, one-shots and breaks coming from 90s sample CDs, together with selected samples, chops, melodic flips and atmospheric manipulations of PSX soundtracks. Best enjoyed during a late-night coding session or while exploring open-world games, but also just while commuting, studying, or zoning out with your headphones on. Thank you for continuing to support this project and these strange little worlds I build. I am constantly learning, refining my sound, and pushing myself to make each release more immersive than the last. Your time and attention truly mean everything to me.
