There could be a number of reasons why we get injured - but one common one that people put forth is a lack of mobility in certain ranges of motion. It’s not necessarily that the lack of mobility itself is the cause of injuries - it’s more to do with positioning. At the shoulder, which is a ball and socket joint, we can flex, we can extend, we can internally and externally rotate, and we abduct and adduct. If we’re missing range or control in the end range in any of these motions, then we can sometimes struggle to get into a stable position with the shoulder when performing certain movements.
