The session outlines the rationale behind introducing reflective portfolios as part of a wider curriculum reform, particularly for first‑year science students who may be new to reflective practice. Alison explains how PebblePad has been used to scaffold reflection through structured prompts, weekly activities, and skills‑based reflection, gradually supporting students to articulate their learning, development, and experiences. The talk demonstrates how portfolio data can be used to surface patterns in skills development, support curriculum evaluation, and present evidence in ways that resonate with scientific colleagues.
