Feeling burned out, foggy, or like you’re always behind? You’re not alone. In this video, I open up about my personal journey with rest—what it really is, why it matters, and why it’s so hard to give ourselves permission to slow down. I’m Kim, and I’m a 59-year-old grad student training to become a therapist. I work 60+ hours a week between my nanny job and unpaid internship at a psychiatric hospital. I’ve spent most of my life pushing through exhaustion—and only recently started learning how to rest without guilt. In this video, we’ll talk about: Why rest is essential, not optional • What happens when we don’t rest (fatigue, brain fog, irritability, etc.) • Why rest feels so hard in hustle culture • Simple ways to practice active rest in everyday life This is not a productivity hack video. It’s a healing conversation—about burnout, trauma recovery, and reclaiming your right to rest. Share in the comments: What’s your relationship with rest? And what’s one way you’ll practice active rest this week? Subscribe to follow my journey of starting over at 59, healing from trauma, and becoming a therapist: @KimBeginsAgain You are not lazy. You are exhausted. And you deserve rest.
