It is well known that this plant is great for calming people down. How does Ashwagandha work? Ashwagandha is known as an adaptogen, which means it is a natural substance that helps the body adapt to stress. It does this by regulating hormone release throughout the body. The improved balance of dopamine and adrenaline is believed to reduce stress, promote relaxation, improve memory, and it can even help with sleep. What are the side effects of Ashwagandha? Sedation, which makes sense, ashwagandha is a natural relaxant, so it can make you feel a bit tired. Headache, diarrhoea and nausea are also common side effects Finally, remember that Ashwagandha can have an effect on hormone levels, so if you have any hormone sensitive conditions, or if you are taking any medication, talk to your doctor before taking Ashwagandha.
