Show notes are available at the link above The third class in our Durga series focuses on Chandraghanta and is about the courage to open to serenity and peace. It is a one hour intermediate to advanced hatha yoga class. “Chandra Ghanta” means supreme bliss and knowledge, and she showers peace and serenity, like cool breeze in a moonlit night. By her blessings all the obstacles on a devotees path are removed. When we practice with Chandraghanta we cultivate bravery and fearlessness accompanied by serenity and humility. Through courage we open a space for gentleness and peace. I think it is possible to feel this in our postures today as we gather the courage to practice over the moon and feel the serenity and peace of this posture. You will need a block and a strap today. We will begin in savasana with moon channel breathing and then move into a Supta Padangusthasana series. From there we will begin to prepare our bodies for over the moon pose with 1/2 Bow Pose. We will connect with our courage with Lion’s Breath, Tiger’s Tail/Vyaghrasana and Bow Pose from all 4’s. Pigeon pose will open up your hips. When we come to standing we will continue our preparation for over the moon pose with 1/2 Moon Side Bending,Half Moon Balancing and finally Over the Moon Pose. We will continue to cultivate courage with Goddess Victory Squat and Mudra for Protection.
