Slow to Grow is a 45-minute yoga practice that invites you to move deliberately, patiently and with intention; proving that slowing down can be one of the most powerful ways to build both physical and mental strength. This practice unfolds gradually, challenging you to stay present as intensity builds without rushing. We begin by warming the spine through child’s pose flowing into cat and cobra, slowly snaking the body and awakening strength in the arms - always optional and adaptable. From there, we introduce lower-body work in sunbird, blended with thoracic twists, gradually layering movements so the core, balance and coordination are constantly engaged. The body continues to warm through downward dog to plank transitions, strengthening arms and core, while maintaining downward dog as a steady home base. The focus then shifts to leg strength and balance, moving from kneeling positions into warrior 3 and back, firing up the quads and testing stability. High and low planks, side planks and combined transitions add both physical intensity and mental focus. We counterbalance the effort with bridge pose or wheel (if in your practice), before softening into happy baby, twists, and a deeply deserved savasana. Why this practice matters: Builds strength and balance through slow, intentional movement Challenges mental resilience as much as physical endurance Encourages adaptation rather than force Reminds us that growth doesn’t need to be rushed Inspired by practicing and sinking into the sand of the Abu Dhabi desert, this flow is a reminder that some environments - and some goals - ask us to move slowly, adapt wisely and trust the process. Slow to grow is often the way to go.
