This flavorful rasam is made with fresh tomatoes, spices, garlic, and herbs that create the perfect balance of tangy and spicy taste. In this video, I will show you a simple step-by-step method to prepare authentic Tomato Rasam using basic ingredients available in your kitchen. This recipe is quick, healthy, and perfect for everyday meals. ✨ Ingredients Tomatoes - 4 medium Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon Garlic - 6 Shallots - 6 Whole peppercorns - 15 Curry leaves - few Green Chillies - 2 slit Tamarind pulp - 3 tablespoon Mustard seeds - half teaspoon Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon Dry chillies - 2 Asafoetida/Hing - 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek powder - 1/4 teaspoon Red chili powder - half teaspoon Coriander powder - half teaspoon Salt - 1 teaspoon Coriander leaves and curry leaves for garnishing Salt Water - 3 cups Crush shallots, garlic, whole peppercorns, few curry leaves and cumin seeds. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add dry chillies. Add crushed onion garlic mixture and saute for 30 seconds on low flame. Add slit green chillies and mix well. Add turmeric, chilli powder , hing, fenugreek powder and coriander powder and fry for 30 seconds. Add salt. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till soft and mushy. Add tamarind pulp and simmer for few minutes. Add water . Cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame. Open lid and taste check for salt. Add more if needed. Garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves. Switchoff flame. Keep aside for 15 minutes for the flavors to set. Serve hot with rice .
